Prescription Painkiller Tramadol ‘Claiming More Lives Than Any Other Drug’

The best pathologist from Northern Ireland claims that the tramadol -- the most famous painkiller in the world, is taking much more lives than any other drug in the world, including the cocaine and heroin.

If this prescribed drug is taken properly and the rules are followed, then it cannot cause any harm, but it will if someone who is taking it, mixes it with alcohol and other drugs as well.

There was a research done, and at the end of the research it was found that there were 33 people who lost their lives from this drug, there was one pensioner in his late 70’s and a 16 year old girl!

There are many pathologists that want this drug, which has a purpose to treat severe or moderate pain, to be available only on prescription, among them is professor Jack Crane as well. But 2014 is the year when tramadol became a class C drug which required no prescription to be purchased.

There are some other anti-drug campaigners, that also claim that even more people are using it and turn to the so called black market.

Professor Jack Crane, also is against this and has reported that he is afraid that even more people will lose their lives if there isn’t any action taken, and this drug is not taken away from that illegal or black market. Professor Crane also wants this drug to be sorted as a class A drug, instead of a class C drug.

Also professor Crane has arranged himself a meeting with the Chief Medical Officer of Northern Ireland, because he wants to make a change!

What medicine should you not take when taking this for pain!

Ten years ago , I went in for routine overnight surgery, instead I was hospitalized for two weeks, after suffering a life threatening double kidney failure, the doctor couldn’t think of any of any reason for the complications, but he did mentioned; maybe it was a reaction to the pain killer Tramadol. I wish I knew about this back then and hold the Tramadol pharmaceutical responsible for my ordeal.

Tramadol is prescription only in the UK, and on top of that classified as restricted so has to be kept under lock & key in pharmacies until collected. I’m astonished that it is available over the counter in the USA.

This article says Ireland rather than US. Tramadol is definitely a Class A drug in the US.

    3. I live in USA and have never seen anywhere you can get over the counter. I have back problems and was prescribed this and only take when pain is unbearable.. I don’t know where they are getting this information but you can’t get it here in Iowa without a prescription.

Tramadol is not available over the counter in the US. It is classified as a Schedule IV drug, which is defined as a drug with a low potential for abuse and low risk of dependence, and it definitely requires a prescription.

  6. Diana

You need a prescription in the USA also

  7. Linda

Tramadol…… I took that stuff for while it never helped. So i trashed them….

  11. I was prescribed this while having pancreatic attacks. I had to go weekly to get a week supply. It’s not over the counter here in the us 《tennessee》 where it’s become terrible with people abusing pain killers. Sad but truth all ages have been passing away from abusing drugs.

  12. I take Tramadol everyday. It’s not OVER THE COUNTER in the USA. I’ve never had my problems with it!! I’m not on of the stupid people that take it for fun. It’s these people that have taken away my Dr.s right do the pain meds I need. But as I was taught early, if you play you’re going to pay!

If drug addicts cant get pills it will just be something else. it’s sad the people who really need the pain pills and sinus pills now have to spend a fortune to get them or do with out because of the drug addicts. keep them locked up where they belong. all these druggies stealing from hard working people . and it’s always so sad for the druggy …What about the innocent people you cant help someone who dont want help.

People that abuse drugs are keeping the people who don’t abuse medication from getting what they
    need to function daily!

It is not sold OTC in the US. I take it but it only makes me sleepy. In the prior years I never had to show ID when getting this script but these past few years I have to show ID.

Never heard of 1 week at a time. I had rorator cuff surgery, and took it 2x/day. I was able to fill the 60 supply. Interesting

  18. Michelle Bracknell
