10 Habits That Balance Hormones So You Can Lose Weight!

Losing weight can be one of the most difficult tasks, and it can be a struggle every day. And people are always looking for the easiest solution and they start consuming some “miraculous” capsules, special programs, tea, powder, etc.

Therefore, one of the best-selling authors and Harvard-trained MD, Dr. Sara Gottfried made a report in which she shared her secrets of how to lose weight and improve your health in general, and only through the balance of your hormones.

“How to Balance Your Hormones For Glowing Skin, Deeper Sleep & Better Digestion” -- this is the title of her course and through this course you can lose some weight and improve your overall health at the same time.

You will be able to burn fat and prevent or at least control your food cravings once you mange to reverse or balance your hormones. Dr. Gottfried reported that there are different types of calories, that there are some that make you burn fat and keep muscle, and there are others which make you accumulate fat in the abdominal area.

So, if you are willing to burn fat in the abdominal area you need to reset those hormones -- adiponectin, growth hormone, cortisol, leptin and insulin. And here are the top 10 strategies she gave:

1. Practice HIIT

HIIT stands for “high-intensity interval training” and it is very helpful to burn fat from your body. This is a type of workout where you exercise very intensively for about a minute, then you make a small break for a few minutes, between each exercise.

2. Eat Protein

According to Dr. Gottfried proteins are stimulating the process of burning fat and they also create a feeling of satiety. Therefore increasing their intake can be quite beneficial, so you should consume foods that are rich in protein like legumes, lentils and beans.

3. Eat Purslane

One of the richest sources of omega-3 fatty acids is the Purslane, it is also very rich in many nutrients and has the ability to eliminate and reverse the negative effects of fructose. Therefore it is able to improve your learning skills, your memory and help you lose some weight as well.

4. Avoid Gluten & Dairy

One of the most common food intolerances are dairy and gluten, and avoiding them can help you treat insulin resistance, treat inflammation and lose weight as well.

5. Limit Fructose

Fructose is a very harmful and metabolically dangerous sugar, because it is not sending a signal to your brain that you are already full. Therefore it is going to the liver and it is stored as fat, therefore stimulating leptin and insulin resistance. So, that is why it is causing a stressed liver, inflammation and belly fat.

6. A Mini Fast

You can decrease visceral fat by intermittent fasting, and Dr. Gottfried is suggesting 16 hour window for men, and an 18 hour window for the ladies.

7. Get Enough Sleep

Since the sleeping is controlling the insulin and cortisol levels in our body, you must get a good rest and sleep at least 8 hours every night in order to reduce the belly fat.

8. Avoid Alcohol

Start avoiding alcohol, sodas, and sugary juices if you want to lose some weight and burn fat.

9. Manage Stress

The cortisol levels are elevated by stress, therefore causing breakdown of muscles, storing fat and gaining weight. Therefore, finding an activity that relaxes you will be of great benefit for you, like essential oil baths, yoga, reading, walking, exercising, meditation, etc.

10. Increase Adiponectin Levels

The adiponectin is working between the brain and the fat cells, so finding it at low levels your body will start to store fat  and vice versa. And if the levels are elevated your body will start to burn fat. So, to increase the levels of adiponectin you need to consume more pumpkin seeds and pistachios, and supply your body with at least 35 g of fiber on daily basis.
