Do you have best friends? Are you really that close with them? Some times friendships change over time, and the college especially is pushing people into different paths. Then life gives you thousands of family duties, work positions, and countless other responsibilities. People move from one city to another and sometimes even forget about their childhood friends.
Well, these best friends didn’t gave up on themselves that easily, and they built a tiny home. What’s their main goal? Grow old together.
The Small Town
Four couples have been friends for more than 20 years. But they are not able to visit each other often, and they did all they could to live closer to each other. They were only interested in environmental-friendly methods. So, each of the couples took their money and they started building their own town near the Llano River just outside Austin, Texas.
The cabins in the Llano Exit strategy cost about $40,000 each. Matt Garcia was designing these cabins, and the made sure that they are cost-effective and they are efficient. The cabins have water barrels (5,000 gallons), insulated windows, reflective walls, and slanted roofs.
The main plan of the group was to grow old together after they retire.
Take Care of your Friendship
How can you keep your friends close to you forever? Here are a couple of tips below:
Try showing grace as much as you can. Change your expectations to relieve your friends from the pressure they feel. Do good things for them, even when they don’t deserve them. Forgive them without letting them say they’re sorry. Everybody needs compassion.
2. Make up after arguments
Disagreements will be a common thing in every friendship. You know your friend’s weaknesses and strengths. Don’t ever try taking advantage of that. Learn how to say you are sorry when you have to, and forgive.
3. Be honest
You cannot expect your friendships to last forever, if you are building it on falsehood. Try being honest as much as possible, about everything, about your future goals, about your opinions and even your past. Don’t agree to everything just to fit in the crowd. Be honest and loud about what you think, and try avoiding misunderstandings.
Friendship is the noblest gift you’ll ever get, and there are people in the world that would do anything just to have best friends or see their best friends once more. Having a best friends is the biggest blessing you can have, so take care of them. They deserve to be treated with respect, never forget that!
Your best friends is always going to be there when you need them, in good or bad, or when the world is falling apart. Would you build a tiny town with your friends just to grow old together?
