9 Magical Pictures Of Hummingbirds’ Wings Shining Like Rainbows

Mother Nature is incredibly diverse and complex, and no matter how advanced the technology gets, it never stops to surprise and amaze us. Nothing and none can ever surpass Mother Nature.

Christian Spencer, an Australian photographer was interested in indigenous cultures and nature, since he was a kid. His painting work started to be professional back in 1996 in Adelaide.

While he was living in the Itatiaia National Park in Brazil for almost 20 years, he discovered some of the countless natural miracles.

The black Jacobin hummingbird is probably known for its high-pitched song. However, the delicate mastery of avian maneuvers and beauty of these birds in Brazil have been fascinating us ever since.

His work was included in a short film, named The Dance of Time, which brought him 10 international awards and 3 best film honors. Years later, he decided to visit the subject again, and shoot some photos of this very same phenomenon.

His latest work of art, known as Winged Prism, has won him a prize at the Museum of Modern Art in Resende RJ Brazil, and reveals a secret of nature, that can’t be seen with the naked eye.

He also mentioned that these photos are not digitally manipulated in any ways:

There is nothing special in the technique of taking these pictures, it’s just the diffraction of the light through a hummingbird’s wings. Nobody before could have imagined that this was real. Every day I get emails from people all around the world that are touched by my photographs.

The Colorful Images are Captivating:
