Nature can be dominant, diverse, omnipotent and complex. So, it is completely normal for us to be surprised every once in a while.
On August 30, 2019, Zoo Atlanta posted a couple of photos of a gorilla named Anaka, which celebrated her 6th birthday.
Fans were sharing their best wishes and loved the photos of the gorilla, but a lot of them were surprised from the photos as well, actually from the fingers of the gorilla. They saw a pink patch on the skin of the gorilla, and everyone started commenting that her fingers are very human-like.
The photographs are showing Anaka’s hand and her short finger nails.
Gorillas have individual fingerprints and toeprints, and they also have opposable thumbs. They also have nails, just like we do.
According to the zoo, her skin is as unique as her personality:
She is often barking at her mom and other, in order to get a prime spot for juice and food.
She’s often seen riding piggyback on her sisters and her brother.
Some thought that Anaka has vitiligo, which was manifested by losing the skin pigment on certain parts of the skin. However, the zoo didn’t confirm that and the spokesperson also added:
Well, the skin pigment of her skin has always been like that, and it has not changed for years, so we think that it is only a cool birthmark.
